Prof. Eyal Ben-Ari studied for his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in the Sociology and Anthropology Department at the Hebrew University, and at Cambridge University, England for his doctorate in social anthropology. Before joining the Lieutenant General Dan Shomron Kinneret Institute for Social Relations, Peace and Security (at Kinneret Academic College), he taught sociology and anthropology at the Hebrew University for 26 years. Prof. Ben-Ari has conducted field research in Israel, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Sweden. In Israel, he has researched social and cultural aspects of the IDF. In Japan, he researched neighborhoods of white-collar workers, infant education, the Japanese community in Taiwan, and the modern Japanese army.
