Prof. Gabi Sheffer
Prof. Gabriel (Gabi) Sheffer is a member of the faculty of the Political Science Department of the Hebrew University. In addition to his full-time appointment at the Hebrew University, he has taught in many universities in Israel, and during his sabbaticals he has taught at many prestigious universities abroad. He is a director of research institutes – including the Davis Institute at the Hebrew University, and has been and is a research associate in several research institutes, including the Institute for National Security Studies.
His current theoretical and analytical research interests including Israeli politics and leadership, diasporas and the Jewish and Israeli diaspora, and civil-security-military relations. He has published numerous books and articles in all these areas and is the recipient of various prizes and awards, including from our Association.
He has published numerous articles on Moshe Sharett, including a political biography in English entitled Moshe Sharett. Biography of a Political Moderate, published by Oxford University Press. With Prof. Oren Barak he recently published a book on the security networks, entitled Israel Security Networks, published by Cambridge University Press.
