Prof. Ehud Menipaz, B.Sc. Eng., M.Sc. Eng., MBA, PhD. is a descendant of the members of the Bilu Movement in the Upper Galilee. He is Professor Emeritus at Ben Gurion University of the Negev, in which he is founding chair of the Ira Center for Business, Technology and Society and the Solomon & Abraham Krok Chaired Professor of Entrepreneurial Management. Over the course of his academic career, he has served as a professor of aeronautical engineering, mechanical engineering and industrial engineering and management, and as a professor of business administration. He was as a research associate and visiting professor in universities around the world, including: New York University and Columbia University in the United States, McGill University in Canada, Deakin University in Australia, and Bilkent University in Turkey. Prof. Menipaz is a retired senior partner in Ernst & Young International, where he was a consultant to countries, government organizations and Fortune 500 companies, and was a consultant to Rafael, the military industry, and the Prime Minister’s Office. He chaired a committee in the National Research Council in the Canadian government, was a member of the America Quality Foundation under the auspices of the Office of the United States President, and a member of the Forum for Sustainable Economic Development in Former Communist Bloc Countries under the auspices of President Vladimir Putin.
His research is on industrial, business, and administrative strategy; innovation; entrepreneurship and defense economics. He serves as a scientific editor for several international science journals. His research findings have been published in hundreds of books published by international publishers including Prentice-Hall, Sage, and L’Harmattan, and are also sold on e-Bay and Amazon. Prof. Menipaz is the outgoing president of the global consortium GERA, which is engaged in multiannual entrepreneurship and innovation (GEM) in some hundred countries worldwide. He is a founding director of the Young Entrepreneur Association of Israel; chairs the board of trustees of the Association of Engineers, Architects and Graduates in Technological Sciences in Israel; is a founding director of the Global Organization for Enlightenment in Science in China; and the chair of the Ira Center for Business, Technology and Society.
Prof. Menipaz is the recipient of the HTI prize of the Association of Friends of Technion, the Academic Leader of the Decade Prize awarded by the global organization WEF, a life achievement award from the Academy and Industry in Israel, and the International Inspiration Day Prize (2022). Prof. Menipaz has three children and eight grandchildren. His hobbies include playing the piano, skiing, and tennis.
